The last time that we updated the Bowser Microcap Stock Index was two weeks ago. At the time, the Index closed Friday, April 26 at 500.34. The following week, the Index closed up 1.8% for its second straight week of solid gains--at 509.35. Last week started off strong, with the Index hitting 515 on Monday. It then slipped, however, closing out the week down slightly (-0.2%) at 508.45. No chart this week.
Other indexes performed very well last week, pitting the Microcap Stock Index at the bottom of the list, and as the only index we report on to post a loss. The Russell 2000 had the best week, posting a 2.2% gain. All of the other indexes were up over at least 1.0%.
The other major indexes were as follows:
- Russell 2000 (^RUT)–UP 2.2%
- NASDAQ Composite (^IXIC)–UP 1.7%
- S&P 500 (^GSPC)–UP 1.2%
- Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI)–UP 1.0%
There were no changes to the Index’s companies this week.
