While compiling our Company of the Month writeup, we pull information from a variety of sources. Mainly we use the company's most recent 10-Q and 10-K (quarterly and yearly SEC filings). We also tend to use Yahoo! Finance's financial tables as they provide a succinct yet detailed report on a company's finances.
We had a Buckaroo, Jason Graves, point out to us that the figure we had printed for Newtek's long-term debt--$11,552,000--might be wrong. He called our attention to the company’s 10-Q. Our figure came straight from Yahoo!’s quarterly balance sheet page. We apologize for the use of an incorrect figure. The correct amount of long-term debt is $50,884,000(1).
(1) $24,253,000 of this figure is a securitization trust.
