Microcap Index

The Bowser Microcap Stock Index was introduced in Sep'01. It was inspired by John E. Picchietti, a Chicago trader, who noted that there was a need for a microcap index. The Russell 2000, which is billed as a small-stock index, has issues with market capitalization of $1 billion or more. Since 2001, other microcap indexes have been created. Our Index was designed by George K. Zestos, a professor of economics at Christopher Newport University. It is an unmanaged, weighted index of 50 stocks, each of which was under $3 when placed in the portfolio.
